Leonid Vilikhin
Leonid Vilikhin began his career at the creative studios of the Hermitage museum at Saint Petersburg. His extraordinary taste and impeccable skill was influenced by the highly regarded artistic traditions of this world renowned museum.
After moving to the U.S., Vilikhin quickly became a high-demand designer and his designs appeared at many of the leading jewelry houses in New York. While fulfilling orders for leading jewelry companies such as Tiffany and Carvin French Inc., he mastered his skill and acquired the invaluable experience of working for some of the world’s top commercial enterprises. Vilikhink’s designs, which were made for Cartier, Bulgari, Henry Dunay Design, C&J Jewelry, and AR&AR Jewelry, have become very popular and are currently sold in very high end boutiques, as well as in the most prominent American stores.
Leonid Vilikhin is currently at the peak of his career, however he devotes most of his time to LeVil Co., his jewelry company.
Leonid Vilikhin constructs his jewelry pieces from gold and silver, and he uses natural stones and pearls.
Many of Vilikhin’s pieces are in the art nouveau and in the art deco style, however the artist loves to create pieces in many different styles. He has said that “all styles are great! I don’t have a favorite style because I believe that a piece of jewelry should not attract attention to itself, but instead, it should attract the viewer to the space where the piece is being displayed. In other words, a piece of jewelry should attract attention to the one who is wearing it!”
“Sophisticated women do not use accessories to show off, they use them to highlight something about themselves. Jewelry should always express something about its possessor.”
